UND Communication Program faculty members Slavka Antonova and Richard Shafer recently published their co-authored article: “Journalism Education in Russia: Contemporary Trends in a Historical Context” in the Journal of Global Mass Communication. The article draws on interviews with Russian faculty of journalism leaders – Moscow University among them, which Antonova is familiar with from her studies there. Shafer has written and published extensively on Soviet-era journalism history and was a Fulbright scholar in the former Central Asian republics of the Soviet Union. The article is also co-authored with Prof. Eric Freedman of Michigan State University.
